FAQs

Does it work?

Acupuncture has been proven by western scientists to be effective in relieving pain. Acupuncture is the process of inserting hair like needles at various points on the body called acupoints. These acupoints when manipulated either by needle or pressure has an effect on the central nervous system. The manipulation of the points trigger the release of endorphins, cortisol and other hormones into the body. These hormones alleviate pain, balance the body and restore health.

Does it hurt?

People are usually surprised with how little acupuncture hurts. A patient might feel some discomfort when the needles are inserted or manipulated. While the needles are in the body, a patient may also feel a dull achy sensation at the site of the needle.

How many treatments will I need?

There are several factors to take into consideration when determining how many treatments a patient needs. One of the most important factors is the length of time the patient has been suffering from the aliment. The second is how the patient responds to the treatment. The third factor is what the patient does after the treatments. If the patient stays off the effected area, recovery will happen at a faster rate. Usually, it will take between ten and twelve visits to effectively treat most conditions. Yet some patients may require more or less treatments depending on the above factors.
